Xiangqiboard sourcecode compiled and running successfully on Debian testing (ghc6 & libghc6-gtk-dev & hoichess required).

Xiangqiboard only supported the HoiXiangqi engine until now, which seems to be not around anymore. You can still download the source code, if you are interested. But you will not be able to play Xianghi with the software anymore for the time beeing.

Xiangqiboard 0.1.3 arrives

Xiangqiboard is now supporting Hoixiangqi versions 0.8.0 and 0.10.3. There will be no new Xiangqiboard releases this year ;-)

Xiangqiboard is now available with optional move animation. Download the source tarball or try the binary deb package for your convenience.

You can play a game against hoixiangqi from start to mate with this version 0.1.0. It is also possible to save and load games. Please drop me a line if you try it out.

You were looking for a resizeable xiangqi GUI for GNU Linux? Rejoice, Xiangqiboard is the answer! HoiXiangqi will be the first engine playable with Xiangqiboard. Thanks to Holger Ruckdeschel for adapting HoiChess to Xiangqi!

The resizeable board is implemented with the Gtk2Hs GUI Library for Haskell based on Gtk and the included Cairo 2d graphics library support. The pieces are hand created with Inkscape, a mighty fine free (GPL) software scalable vector graphics editor :-)

The GUI is playable right now, but still in its initial development phase. Xiangqiboard is free software and will be licensed under the GNU General Public License.

First prerelease version of the source code will be available very soon!
